Harewood Golf Club has been proud to offer you two challenging, but contrasting golf courses. Although quite different in appearance, both courses are very well drained and have excellent quality greens, year round. They appear to have relatively flat fairways but are, in fact, deceptively undulating. When you add in the spectacular views of the Southern Alps and the Port Hills in the background, you’re sure to enjoy your day.
To help you warm up, there is a practice putting green, a practice fairway, and a chipping green available for use.
Due to the reconstruction of 18 new greens and 14 new tee block complexes on the Woodlands course, Harewood is exclusively using the Plains New course for golf for until approximately November 2010.
The Plains New Course
More like a links course in appearance, the New Course offers wide fairways and excellent greens. However, take it lightly at your peril. To score well, a golfer has to keep it on the fairway or else an awkward lie is likely.
Woodlands Old Course
The Woodlands course is currently closed to enable the completion of the redesign and renovation of this course. We expect 9 holes to be open for play by the end of 2010, and the remaining 9 holes becoming available during 2011. By November 2011, it is anticipated that the whole course will be available to play. With a new layout, 18 new greens and over 14 new tee complexes, this will be one of the top courses in Canterbury - well worth the wait!.
