Member Update – from Club Captain Doug Claridge

The course has dried out after 2 weeks of NW weather the rough is tinder dry consequently a no smoking ban is now in place.

This weekend is the final event for the 2019 Saturday Golf Calendar – The Christmas Hamper Shotgun. Tee off is at 12.00pm $15.00 covers your entry, twos and net eagles. The competition of the day is a Stableford competition.

Matt McLean, Scott Manyweathers, Josh Smith and club professional Craig Mitchell are competing in the Charles Tour Event, The Christies Flooring Mount Mens Open on the Mt Maunganui Golf Course. Matt and Scott lie 23rd = on -2, Josh is on -1 with Craig back on +1 on the cut line.

The Mens monthly medal finals were held last weekend. The winner of the top dig carpark with a best Nett of 64 was Tony Ralfe. The winners of the grades are:

Members are advised there is now a No Smoking rule in place on the course, practice area and driving range.
All New Twilight Comp – results from night 4

The windy conditions again tested many but there was still some great scoring on the back 9.

The winner of the Men’s division was John Hamilton on countback from David Ott who both had a well compiled 22 points. The Women’s division winner was Denise Guerin who with 21 points was 3 clear of 2nd placed Joy Lord.
 
NTP on #13 went to “Aunty” Les Keys with the Women’s NTP rolling over due to the radars being a little off on the night. That means $50 is up for grabs on the final night this Tuesday for the Ladies.

With one night to go there are 3 men equal on points, 4 clear of a chasing pack. There are 2 Ladies equal at the top with a 3 point buffer so it really is game on for the last Twilight on Tuesday night.
Clubhouse Christmas & New Year Opening Hours

I have agreed with our caterers Tasteful Affairs that the Clubhouse will be closed on the following dates. These dates are subject to change where tee bookings are strong and the pro shop will liaise with the caterers in this regard.

Closed - December 25, 26 & 27

Open – December 28, 29 & 30

Closed – December 31 & January 1,2 & 3

Open – January 4th onwards

The pro shop will only be closed on Christmas Day.
