Member Update

Hello all,

The great Level 3 weather continues with many of you enjoying beautiful conditions on course.

Following yesterday’s briefing from the PM we are a little clearer on what Level 2 will look like for us golfers.

Whilst I am still awaiting any definitive guidelines from NZ Golf, we can reasonably expect the following;

         · Play no longer restricted to bubbles so 4-ball bookings possible

         · Handicapping system live again (scorecards in use)

         · Pro Shop and Clubhouse open for trading (with some restrictions)

         · Toilets open (A big sigh of relief from the Ladies…so to speak!)

         · Contact tracing a requirement for Clubhouse operation (bar and food) so all patrons must sign in

         · Clubhouse table service only so no standing/waiting at bar or food order area. This will be our biggest challenge in terms of resources!

The PM will announce when Level 2 will take effect on Monday 11th.

The tee booking sheets are open up to and including Wednesday 13th but we won’t open up any later than that until we know the details of Monday’s announcement.

In terms of the Club playing programme there is an online meeting of the Match Committee on Tuesday 12th to review this and Doug will report back to members once further details are known.

It is likely that Saturday May 23rd will be the first day of “normal” member play but what comps are run will be advised by the Match Committee.

I don’t like to finish on a negative but the unrepaired divots and pitch marks on the course are really at an unacceptable level. I’m sure it is only a few members responsible but it is very disappointing for those who diligently repair these for others, not to mention all the hard work our greenkeepers put in to present our course in top condition.

Sand buckets are compulsory for all players so there should be no excuses. Please be vigilant and remind playing partners of this most basic responsibility as a member and golfer.

Rant over – I’ll be in touch again once further information is known.

Have a great weekend all.

Cheers,

Neville
