Member Update – from Club Captain Doug Claridge
A frosty start is forecast for the weekend. It is more than likely that the golf course will be closed to play until the 10.00am 2-tee start. It’s more than likely those players booked into the 6-tee slots from 7.45am to 8.00am will not be able to play. Members are reminded that booking into these slots does come with the risk of the course being closed due to frost. The 2-tee start is the most effective way to get the most players onto the course during the frosty months with the minimal disruption to bookings. The weather with a frosty start does look good with sun and light winds forecast for both days of the weekend. This weekend all players are off the yellow tees. It is a monthly medal for the men and an FMS stableford for the ladies. Please be mindful of the players around you and in front of you. There may be some delays on some holes, being off the shorter tees and the green being closer and being able to be hit from the tee. With the men’s competition of the day being a stroke round please hit a provisional ball if you hit your first one astray into the rough and are unsure where it lands. The 1m clean and place in the general area of the course remains in place this weekend. The general area of the course covers all the areas of the course except the tee blocks, bunkers and the green. The placing rule will be reviewed next week at the match committee meeting. The BCHP semi-final round is scheduled for the 10th of July and final scheduled for the 24th of July. Players in the semi-final should have been advised of their tee time though dot golf. The mid-winter shotgun and club breakfast is due to be held on the 17th of July. Entries will be taken through the Proshop. Results: Saturday 26 June Men: Par | Div. I +5-13.7 | Div. II 13.8-36 | 1st | Kane Boulton +2 | Alan Cowie +3 | 2nd | Jeremey Guernsey +2 | Gill Harris +1 | 3rd | Patrick Gou +1 | Neil Fraser +1 | Ladies LGU | Silver | Bronze A | Bronze B | 1st | Victoria Webb-Smart 76 | Julie Monk 72 | Stephanie Withell 71 | 2nd | Pam McTaggart 77 | Annette Pringle 75 | Anne Ott 77 | Enjoy your golf this weekend. |

Harewood GC Rules & Etiquette
There have been some issues raised of late due to our recent membership growth, particularly in the age-group categories. Members are reminded that certain rules and standards that must be adhered to by members and their guests. Some of the recent issues brought to my attention are; · Club-sharing. Players must have one set of clubs each and not share between 2 or 3 players as has been witnessed recently. · Dress standards. Players must be dressed appropriately. This means golf shoes or trainers, collared shirts and appropriate shorts/pants. What is deemed appropriate can be subjective of course but generally track pants are not considered appropriate, especially if ripped, paint-stained etc etc. The pro shop will remind players of these requirements if they consider they do not meet these minimum standards. · Course Etiquette. If you are holding up a group behind and have lost ground on the group in front (if there is one) please call the group behind through. Not doing so causes great frustration and can potentially lead to hitting up and the risk of injury. Many thanks for your cooperation. Neville – General Manager

New Local Rule – 1m Clean & Place
As mentioned in Doug’s report, there is now a 1 metre clean and place rule in effect on the course. This rule is “through the green” meaning all areas except, hazards, bunkers, tees & greens, and no closer to the hole. Any questions please ask in the pro shop. |

HEBE – Jeebee!
Thank you so much for your kind donations! We have $$$ to spend and plants to plant & your contributions for our new garden area have been most welcome. You may have noticed the area is being cleared and the planting will begin on 7 July at the working bee. It has also been decided to reposition the shoe/trundler cleaning air pressure hose to this area as well, being far too messy outside the pro shop, so a greater area has to be cleared. A landscaped, ‘fit for purpose’, installation will be set in place at a later date. That means we will need many more Hebe’s than first thought. So, keep the donations coming in and we will accept plants or $$$ through July as well. The positive Harewood response to this project has not disappointed. Thank you to all members who have contributed! Debbie Scott - Chair Course Committee |
