The golf season is moving quickly, and the programme is getting busy. Don’t forget the AGM next Thursday the 15th at 7.00pm.
This weekend is the semi-finals of the BCHP, with the final on the 24th of July. Good luck to all the semi-finalists. The weather for the Saturday looks as though it will fine up, whether there is a frost will depend on the cloud cover overnight. Please remember if you are booked into the tee slots prior to the 10.00am start it is dependent on the course being closed for frost. With the Saturday fields being fully booked, members are reminded that if you are not going to play, please contact the pro shop to remove yourself from the tee sheet. This allows the pro shop to adjust the tee bookings and offer someone who has not been able to get a booking to get a game! There has been a couple of incidences lately where players have not turned up and tee slots have been left empty!
Next weekend the 17th is a Shotgun start at 11.00am with the annual mid-winter breakfast in the club house from 9.30am. The cooked breakfast promotion will be priced at $15.00 -$20.00. It is a normal Saturday entry fee ($3 + 2 twos / $1 net eagles) for this multi- tee start. The men are playing for the Bell Mugs (multiple stableford). The next event looming is the club championships. Due to qualifying occurring during the 2-tee start, and in order to allow all male members to get an opportunity at qualifying, there is a change in qualifying for this year’s club champs. Qualifying will be 2 rounds of the 3 available qualifying dates. Players will be required to nominate which 2 rounds they will play and qualify. The schedule for the club championships matches is restricted due to Coring occurring in the week of the 10th of October. Entry will be by booking sheet in the Pro Shop opening 3 weeks prior to the first round. The qualifying rounds are the 7th, 14th and 21st of August respectively. By nominating 2 dates for qualifying, players will be pre-booked into a tee slot with other players of your grade wherever possible. The sheets will be available to be booked into from the 17th of July. The grades for club championships will be similar to last year’s grades. Please consult the 2021 Programme book for further information.
I hope you enjoyed the monthly medal off the yellow tees. There were some great scores. Best round of the day was Matt McLean 62 (8 birdies, 2 eagles, 6 pars and 2 bogies). It was not good enough to place him in the nett results as his handicap off the yellow tees is +9.0! Best nett winner for the top dog carpark is Bruce Gillespie. The next monthly medal is a Black / Blue / White at the end of the month (August monthly medal).
