The first round of match play for Club Champs got off to a great start last weekend, so congratulations to those who are through to round 2, and commiserations to those who have pushed through to the Plate round.
For the women who were not playing in the Club Champs last weekend there was a Stroke competition with the following results:
1. Marguerite Leitch (Nett 71)
2. Jung Hee Kim (Nett 72)
3. Denise Guerin (Nett 72)
For the men who didn’t qualify for Club Champs, there was an International Stableford comp played last weekend. Results for that were:
| Division 1 | Division 2 |
1st | Neil Fraser | Brian Tinworth |
2nd | Pedro Jung | Bruce Chalklen |
3rd | Mark Duggan | Joshua Henderson |
We are getting great numbers of players through on a Saturday now that the season allows for a longer day. However, we always have people calling in to try to get a spot later in the week or even on a Saturday morning, so please call the Pro Shop if you are unable to make your allotted tee time. It was very disappointing to have a whole tee slot not show-up and not call the Pro Shop mid-morning last Saturday, so please think of others. If there is a likelihood of a frost and you have an early start, please also call ahead to double check how things are at the course.
Please call the Pro Shop if you are unsure about your tee times for this weekend if you are either in Club Champs or Plate rounds as they have been posted in DotGolf.
Placing, Flags and other information
A reminder that we are still at Level 2 this weekend, so the same rules apply as last weekend. Please do not remove flags at any stage of your round. Rakes are in bunkers, and toilets, ball washers and water fountains will be back in use.
Pro Tip by Craig Mitchell
Struggling to get your rounds off to a good start?
I see so many golfers arrive right before their round, rush to the first tee, and make a poor first swing! Plan to arrive at the course 15 minutes earlier than usual and hit 25 balls on the driving range. You'll be surprised how much of an effect a small warm-up can have on your scores.
Enjoy your golf.
