Club By-Laws
1. CLUB COLOURS
 
The colours of the Club shall be RED and BLUE.
 
2. GREEN FEE PLAYERS
 
  1. Members introducing Green Fee players shall be responsible for their visitors' conduct while on the Club's property. Such members will also be responsible for any debts incurred.
  2. Visiting officers of other clubs may be invited as guests of the Club by the President or either of the Captains, provided that the Professional and/or the Match Convener of the day is advised that any such guest/s are playing on the course.
  3. Any member of the Board or a Life Member may invite a guest to play on the course, but such privilege shall not be used more than three times in any one year, with advice given as in Clause 2 (b).
 
3. GREENS STAFF
 
Greens staff carrying out their duties shall have right of way on the course at all times, and no employee may be reprimanded except by a member of the Management Committee authorised to do so.
 
4. COURSE CONTROL
 
  1. The responsibility for course closure rests with the Course Superintendent in consultation with the General Manager and Club Captains of the day.
  2. The formulations and implementations of Local Rules, including Placing, rests with the Match Committee.
 
5. COMPLAINTS
 
All complaints about Club Employees or other members shall be made to the General Manager. If such complaints are made in writing, the General Manager shall submit them without delay to the Management Committee, or to the duly authorised Sub-Committee.

GENERAL HOUSE RULES
 
Dress
  • As in most clubs, it is essential that a good standard of dress be maintained. Members are therefore expected to observe the following rules in the proper spirit and ensure that their dress is always appropriate.
  • Minimum standard is neat and tidy dress.
  • Members who invite visitors to the Club should ensure they are aware of the rules and dress requirements.
 
Food & Liquor
Only Food and Liquor purchased in the Clubhouse may be consumed in the Clubhouse.
 
Membership Card
All members must carry their membership card whilst in the Clubhouse or on the course.

ETIQUETTE OF THE GAME OF GOLF

Safety
  • Ensure no one is likely to be injured as a result of your play.
 
Consideration for Others
  • The person with the honour plays first.
  • Do not move or talk whilst others are playing shots.
  • Play without undue delay.
  • Do not hit up on players in front.
  • Call the following group through if a ball is likely to be difficult to find.
  • Immediately leave the green once the hole is completed.

KNOWLEDGE OF THE RULES OF GOLF
 
It is the duty of each and every player to acquire a proper knowledge of the rules of golf and also the local rules. New members should have an understanding of these rules before being awarded a handicap. Rule books may be obtained from the office during business hours 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday.

LOCAL RULES
 
Members should become familiar with these as they appear on the back of scorecards. Before commencing play check the notice board outside the Pro Shop for any additions or alterations to the rules. Players must wait for the signal from a greenkeeper working on a green or the fairway before playing up. Players must wait until greenkeepers cutting fairways are out of range before playing.
 
During the months of May to August the courses may be closed due to frost. When this occurs no play is to commence before 9:00am. All players report to the starter before proceeding to the course.

CARDS FOR HANDICAPPER
 
All cards should be returned even though a player may have incurred disqualification or has failed to complete a round. Cards must be completed correctly and fully with name, date, computer number and handicap details.

VISITORS WELCOME
 
On specified visitors' days green fees are $10, providing a Club member accompanies the visitor.
Members inviting a visitor on Saturdays must play non-competition, unless prior arrangement is made with the General Manager.

PRIORITY ON THE COURSE
 
  • A single player has no standing and should give way to any match.
  • Any match playing a full round is entitled to pass a match playing a shorter round.

Care of the Course
  • Carry a sand bucket at all times.
  • Rake bunkers.
  • Replace divots - lightly cover with sand and compact with foot.
  • Repair ball marks on greens.
  • Repair spike marks on greens (after putting out).
  • Take care with flagsticks.
  • Do not cause damage with practice swings.
  • Observe rules regulating movement of golf carts and trundlers.
