We had a very busy Saturday last weekend with the men playing a full field monthly medal with Division A off the black tees through to Division C off white. This does mean for a slower day, so thank you all for your patience with the longer rounds with the ground still being a bit heavy. The ladies had an FMS Stableford round, and the results show how close it was with a count back for the first three places.
1. Lesley Hedges 35pts
2. Jung Hee Kim 35pts
3. Julie Monk 35pts
The confirmed men’s Monthly Medal results were:
Division A (+6.0 – 9.9) Nett
1. Kerry Branson 68
2. David Tipples 69
3. Jeremy Gurnsey 70
Best Gross: Matt McLean 73
Division B (10.0 – 14.9) Nett
1. Neil Fraser 67
2. Young Myung Mo 69
3. Adam Facer 69
Best Gross: Greg Hedges 83
Division C (15.0 – 36) Nett
1. Peter Larkin 63
2. Errol Hume 68
3. Sam Horsnell 69
Best Gross: Jos Steetskamp 87
This week’s notes to be aware of are:
· Please make a note to Save your scorecards after scanning and checking. If you do not do so, your card will not appear in the days’ competition and these cards need to then be manually tracked down by Pro Shop staff. This will delay results by some time when there are 12 or 15 to find amongst over 120 cards for the day.
· When we have a local rule of a club length placing, or any placing for that matter, the ball may be marked, picked up, cleaned then placed back in accordance with the days rule. The ball must then be placed back in a “similar” ground condition to that of which it was lying, not better. For example, if you are in the 2nd cut of rough, you must place it back into the 2nd cut of rough, not the first cut or fairway. Check with other players of your group if you need to confirm the fairway cut line should it be hard to see. Any questions, please ask the Pro Shop for clarification prior to your round.
· In any competition that is Gross or Nett, you must putt out. Failure to do this will mean disqualification if reported. Please enforce this in your groups. Only Stableford or Par rounds may be picked up, unless you are in the Shootout where you will need to continue to putt until no stableford points are a result.
This coming Saturday is Stableford for the ladies and Club Champs Qualifying round 1 of 3 for the men. This will be off Black, Blue and White tees again, so please be patient out there. For the 3 weeks of qualifying for the men’s club champs, booking a Saturday slot will be a bit difficult as these matches take booking priority. You should have received email or app notifications for tee times for club champs if you are attempting to qualify. If you haven’t, please contact the Pro Shop as early as possible to ensure you can get in your 2 rounds.
Enjoy your golf, and fingers crossed the wetter weather holds off.
