The first round of men’s club champs was completed last weekend with the weather holding out pretty well for everyone. While there was no men’s competition for those not trying to qualify, there will be one this week as the Dotgolf software behaves better when everyone is covered.
The ladies played a Stableford comp last weekend with the results as below:
1. Hyeza Kim 34 pts
2. Kay Worley 34 pts
3. Victoria Webb-Smart 32 pts
This coming Saturday, the competitions for ladies are LGU, Putting, and Round 2 of the Harewood Cup. For the men its Club Champs Qualifying, round 2 of 3, with a small competition for those not qualifying as mentioned.
Just a reminder that for the 3 weeks of qualifying for the men’s club champs, booking a Saturday slot may be a bit difficult as these matches take booking priority, please have a look online or call the Pro Shop to check availability. All men attempting to qualify should have received an email or app notifications for tee times. If you haven’t, please contact the Pro Shop as early as possible to ensure you can get in your 2 rounds.
A note from the Pro shop for everyone as they arrive on a Saturday, especially those who are early starters, to please check in and get a card before playing, don’t just go straight to your tee.
Men’s interclub golf was supposed to have started last Sunday, but it would be no surprise to anyone that were all cancelled. A catch-up round will be completed later in the season. We hope to bring updates from the captains once the season gets underway. We have all 3 of Woodward Cup, Blank Cup and Simon Cup entered and I’m sure you wish all teams well for the season.
Pro Tip of the week by Craig Mitchell
A new feature for Woodlands Word is the Pro Tip from Craig.
Want to hit the ball further? Just tee the ball higher with your driver and focus on hitting the ball on the UP SWING (At least three quarters of the ball should be above the top of the club).
Attached are the results for both men and women from last weekend.
Enjoy your golf.
