You may have heard through the media today that we had a fire in the greenkeepers area at some point during the night.

 

The fire was only discovered at 6:45am when Jared arrived at work, by which time it had largely burnt out but the fire brigade were called to ensure no further damage could be caused.

 

All staff are safe but we have lost a significant amount of machinery and incidental stock, with the shed completely razed to the ground.

  

We have had fire, police and insurance investigators here today assessing probable cause and at this stage they believe that the cause of origin was our fertiliser storage area in the shed. Just how and why is yet to be determined.

 

The Club is well insured and we expect claim details to be finalised early next week. 

 

The fire is in an isolated area so there with no damage to the course so business as usual in terms of golf.
