Member Update – from Club Captain Doug Claridge

Men, look in the back of the cupboard, for that special pink shirt, worn once or brush off your favourite blue one. In support of two of the biggest killers in our population, prostate cancer and breast cancer. Please wear blue or pink or make a donation. Men are off blue of course for the monthly medal, Ladies a team event, and please be aware of the Senior Men’s Club champs final off the back tees. Phil Barlow takes on Scott Manyweathers for the Clubs Senior Championship.

The course and the weather are looking great for good golf. Spring has arrived, there is a lot of thick cabbage if you are wayward off the tee. It’s a long way to hurry back to play your 3rd off the tee, after a frustrating looking the ball swallowing lush spring growth. Please play a provisional if you think it’s in trouble. Please also be aware that placing has been removed.

Good luck to the Ladies playing the Ladies shootout on Sunday. The Mens Shootout is on Sunday 24/11. Players will receive an email in the next week.

It is a Harewood Vs Russley in both the Men’s Woodward Cup, and the Ladies Pollock Cup semi-finals on the 10th of November at Templeton Golf Club.

Please come down and support our teams in the premier grades of the Canterbury Interclub competition.

Results Saturday 26/10: Please ignore the results on dot golf. The results were done by hand.

Kiwi League Players pay us a visit
Allow images

As is tradition when they are in town, some of the Kiwi Rugby League team paid us a visit today and we took the opportunity to grab a momento before they teed up.

They donated a signed Kiwi jersey to the Club as well. Look out for this at the next fundraising auction!

Volunteers Working Bee
Wednesday 20th November 9.30 – 11.30

Ladies will be doing some Gardening. Men will be cleaning up cones, branches etc between fairways.

A trailer would be great, and hopefully will be able to get the use of the greenkeepers vehicles we used last time.
We will have bags available for pinecones if anybody would like to take them home.
See you there.

Julie Jones

There are still a number of subs payments due from members so please contact the office if you haven’t received an invoice and we will check your contact records.

For those paying by regular instalments can you please check your AP has been amended to reflect the minor subs increase this year.
It is very time consuming to chase subs arrears and we also don’t want to start limiting playing privileges so please check your subs are current.
