Dear Guest, Friday, 22 November, 2019

Member Update – from Club Captain Doug Claridge

The course is looking in magnificent condition. The first week of the twilight competition had a great field (37 players) and is well worth coming down to play on a Tuesday evening at 6pm. The revamped competition has great prizes thanks to the sponsorship and organization of Tony Pole (Tony Pole Electroplating) and Jamie Steel (Gateway Cargo). Tuesday was a stunning night with the course in great condition leading to good scoring. The Men's winner on 24 points reflects the great golfing conditions. The greens have recovered after being a little sedate over the last few weeks to be running true and quick.

This weekend men and ladies have a choice of tees. Ladies have an option of Yellow or White tees, and the Men White or Blue tees. The Men's Shootout is scheduled for this Sunday, starting at 8.30am off the no 1 tee. For those wanting a game, the back nine will be open, but be mindful that the shootout does take all day to decide the eventual winner from the 19 starters.

There are two main events left in the golf calendar for this year. The Men's monthly medal final is scheduled for the 7th of December, the Ladies have the Morning closing competition. Monthly medal finalists will be notified of tee times in the next week. On the 14th of December is the Christmas Hamper closing day shotgun, before the summer cup commences.

All New Twilight Comp – results from night 1

The first night of the refreshed twilight saw a field of 37 produce some great scoring in perfect conditions.

Nigel Paterson pipped Paul O’Neill on countback both with an impressive 24 points and Anne Beckingsale (21) took the honours from Denise Guerin (20) who was 2nd on countback from Catherine Butts and Victoria Webb-Smart.

A big thanks to Twilight Sponsor Tony Pole of Pole Electroplating and Nearest the Pin Sponsor Jamie Steel of Gateway Cargo.

Don’t forget that there is a minimum of 3 cards to be entered to be eligible for the overall prizes and there are 4 weeks left to run.

Driving Range Membership now available

The new driving range membership is now available.

This will replace the concession card system previously in use. Any outstanding concessions cards will be honoured in the pro shop.

Under the new system, for a joining fee of $35 members will receive a Solo membership card which can be used to access the ball machine at any time during daylight hours without needing to go to the pro shop.

Range members will also be issued with a 50-ball yellow basket that can be taken home and is for their personal use only. Members can load onto their Solo cards in lots of 12; so for example 12 x 25 balls = $36, 24 x 25 balls = $72 etc. This equates to $3 per 25 balls.

Full terms and conditions and the application form are available from the pro shop.

Volunteers Day Thank You

Many thanks to the 22 members who attended on Wednesday.

Gardens done and a great job cleaning up between the fairways. All adds to the great condition of our course. Well done.

Thanks - Julie Jones
