I hope all players have enjoyed getting back to “normal golf “playing in a 4 some. Our course continues to look and be in great condition. Credit must be given to Colin and his team of green staff to their hard work in keeping our course in such great condition.
The Men’s Jennian Homes 4BBB second round is being played on the 6th of June, not the advertised 30/05/2020 which is Queens Birthday weekend. Those that are playing in the second round would have had a tee time reminder via dot golf from the Proshop.
This weekend the Men’s programme returns to normal, and entry fees apply to play on Saturday. The men’s shootout, and the Race to Millbrook competition resumes and the competition of the day is a Stableford. The following weekend (Queens Birthday) is a 4-ball par round. It is a full field, with tee times back to 7 mins as opposed to the 10 mins we have been playing since level 3 reopening golf.
Just as in our lives outside golf, patience is required, keep social distancing, and remember wash your hands. At present it just takes a little bit longer to do public activities to help keep everybody safe from COVID.
Players would have noticed the change to the course handicaps. There has been an adjustment to your handicap on the white or yellow tees. For those who are interested there is also a big change when moving to the blue, black and yellow tees.
To see your course handicap use the NZ Golf website, and look on the play golf tab, find a club, click on the course you are wanting to play (https://www.golf.co.nz/PlayGolf/ClubDirectory.aspx). It will show you what your course handicap is for the different tees. There has been a significant change in handicap in moving from the white to the blue and black tees. It thinks it reflects the challenge of the blue and black tees.
A big thanks to Neville, Colin, Craig and all the staff at the Golf club in getting golf up and going quickly and safely for us to enjoy as members. Help support Kostas and his team by coming into the club, enjoying a drink and some food. For those new to the club, and there are a lot of new faces out there, Saturday prize giving is at 5 pm at the conclusion of play, raffles are drawn and announcements made. Please see the club programme for competition of the day details or talk to Craig or myself at the club.
Enjoy the golf this weekend.
