It’s opening day this weekend. There are still slots left in the morning (8.00am) and afternoon (12.30pm) shotgun starts on Saturday. With two starts the club is able to accommodate more players who wish to play in the stableford competition this weekend. As per normal the entry fee is $15.00 which includes twos, net eagles, straightest drive and a best gross score in both men’s grades and the women’s grade.
The course continues to play well and high scores were the order of the day with some players having great rounds. The fairways have plenty of run and the greens this week have been sanded to smooth them out. Please keep repairing your pitch marks on the green or others if you cannot find your own so as not to disadvantage others.
Good luck to Matt McLean, Ryan Barham, Scott Manyweathers, Gavin O’Hara. Kerry Branson and Josh Smith who are competing in the Canterbury Stroke play Championship at Clearwater on Saturday and Sunday. Phil Barlow is competing in the New Zealand Men’s Senior Championships at Christchurch Golf Club this weekend.
Next week is a monthly medal Blue tees for the men and the ladies have a choice of all irons stroke (Jean Tench trophy) or a Par round. The Harewood 4BBB competition has the first qualifying round on the 20th of February. This is a pair’s competition so start organising your partner for the qualifying.
