It looks a fine Saturday for the Men’s Monthly Medal off the black tees. With the fairways firm and fast players should be helped by a little more run on the ball. Ladies this weekend have an LGU. It is a stroke round in both grades, if you are unsure where your tee shot please remember to play a provisional. It does save time and frustration for you (and the group behind you), if you can’t find your first ball and need to walk back to the tee!
With the COVID alert level at 2, pins are required to be left in, and bunker rakes have been removed. If you end up in a bunker you are allowed to place your ball if you are in a foot mark. Please use you club to smooth some of the sand out after you have played your shot. With a warm day forecast please take water with you as the drinking fountains may have been disabled due to the COVID alert level.
The Men’s 4 ball best ball draw has been made and is up in the Proshop. Players will have been advised of your tee time on DotGolf. As in all club events matches are to be played on or before the scheduled next round. If you are needing to change your match date it needs to be by mutual agreement and cleared by the club captain / Proshop. With 40+ teams vying for 32 slots for the match play rounds it will be disappointing to see a default if you are unable to play a scheduled match. The cut off for 32nd place was nett 68 with the top qualifiers at 60.
The second round for the men’s and ladies 4BBB is the 27th of March. As in all match play club events the use of carts without medical exemption is not allowed. The use of a cart when you are physically capable of walking the course gives and unfair advantage in match play events. The lowest handicap player goes to scratch and the others play off the resulting difference.
