It looks like another autumnal shower front is due to pass through Friday and begin clearing Saturday Morning. Autumn conditions are here, with that comes greens that are softer. Playing in the late afternoon the lower angle of the sun makes the unrepaired pitch marks in the greens more noticeable. Our greens are in good condition, they play true and generally fast. Please help to keep them that way by repairing your pitch marks and if you can repair one why not repair another! It is a simple thing to do. For those who are unsure how to repair one properly follow this link, which will help maintain the health of our greens. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuYXMn4tA10 There are a lot of short clips on the internet showing the best way to fix pitch marks.
This week it is a Monthly Medal for the men, all off the white tees, Ladies have an FMS stableford round. It is a stroke round for the men, with the winner of each grade playing in the Monthly Medal final in December. The BCHP (Blank, Captains, Harewood, Presidents) qualifying for the men is on the 15th on May. The 4 grades are around what club championships are played to and is match play off handicap. 16 players qualify in each grade, and the first round is scheduled to be played on the 19th of June.
There is a Volunteer Working bee scheduled for Wednesday 5th of May at 9.30am. For those who want to donate some time to help in the gardens / fairways and have a general tidy around the course your attendance is welcome.
