Board Update – Phil Badger
The board would like to acknowledge and thank Richard and the team for the time, effort and work put into ensuring the new blow-down area project has come to fruition.
We would also like to thank members who made donations towards the cost of the project. Generous support from members ensures that the club continues to grow and flourish.
It has been wonderful to see groups of four come off the 18th green and be able to clean their trundlers together as a group, continuing their camaraderie from the game. With the on-set of autumn/winter, the new site ensures that the entrance to the pro-shop is now a much cleaner and welcoming space.
Weekly Update – By Club Captain Phil Barlow
Saturday players were greeted with a nice warm day and little wind last weekend. We were also treated to a nice pace of green to putt on just to keep us all on our toes. Great for the men’s Monthly Medal and women’s FMS round 3. It was nice to have a drier course than the previous weekend, so we didn’t feel like we had dropped straight into winter golf.
Congratulations to members Lydia and Hamish Hodgeson on the brand new addition to their family. Lydia delivered their baby boy Hugo on 27 April. We hope to see him on the course in a few short years.
This weekend, the men have BCHP qualifying, others Stroke. Women have LGU Rnd 4, Putting, Harewood Cup Rnd 2.

Pro Tip of the week – Undercover Pro
If you are having trouble with the direction of your golf shots, standing behind your ball, look down the line towards your target, ten pick a spot 30cm in front of the ball. Use that point of reference to help align your feet and clubface.
This should help take away some of the more misaligned shots.
Rule of the week – (Rule 6.2B) Teeing Area Rules (first 2 rules)
- When Ball Is in Teeing Area.
- A ball is in the teeing area when any part of the ball touches or is above any part of the teeing area.
- The player may stand outside the teeing area in making the stroke at a ball in the teeing area.
- Ball May Be Teed or Played from Ground. The ball must be played from either:
- A conforming tee placed in or on the ground, or
- The ground itself.

6 May – Men: BCHP qualifying, others Stroke. Women: LGU Rnd 4, Putting, Harewood Cup Rnd 2.
13 May – Men and women have semi-finals for Harewood 4BBB. All others have Stableford.
20 May – Men’s and women’s Harewood 4BBB final. Other men have 4BBB Par, and women have 4BBB.
27 May – Men have All Irons off the yellow tees, or Par from the White tees. Women have Centenary FMS Stableford Rnd 4.
3 June – Centenary Kings Birthday Shotgun – Stableford – 11:30 start

The season of mellow mists and fruitfulness. The MWM teed off in the mist - well fog actually - and finished on a glorious Autumn Day. Some good scoring and some excellent putting in the parallel Team Putting Competition was recorded.
