Harewood Golf Club – Update to Covid-19 Vaccination Policy

The Board of HGC have carefully considered the changes announced by the Government last week, and in particular the removal of vaccine mandates.

Below is a summary of the changes to the Covid-19 Protection Framework (CPF).

From 11.59pm Friday 25 March, a new and highly simplified traffic light setting was introduced.

Red Setting

  • Indoor capacity limits for gatherings and events with My Vaccine Pass have increased to 200 – this includes golf clubhouses and facilities.
  • There are no limits for outdoor activities with My Vaccine Pass – such as gatherings, events, and food/drink retailers.
  • Face masks are no longer required at outdoor settings.
  • There is no requirement to scan in or for a business to display a QR code poster or have mandatory record keeping.

From 11.59pm Monday 4 April, My Vaccine Passes will no longer be required.

  • Until 4 April, where My Vaccine Passes are not used, the current restrictions remain — but after this time, the new capacity limits will apply to everyone.
  • After 4 April, businesses will still be able to use the system if they would like to.

At all levels, the testing and isolation requirements remain as they are now. If you have symptoms or someone in your household tests positive, isolate and get tested.

The face mask rules remain unchanged — face masks must be worn in indoor settings i.e. the pro shop as a retail environment, and the clubhouse unless seated to eat and/or drink.

Golf NZ CEO Dean Murphy has also issued the following statement:

“Golf New Zealand has reviewed the changes in settings and regulations and believes there is no longer any need for any golf club to use My Vaccine Passes beyond Monday 4 April. One of golf’s greatest qualities is that it is an inclusive, healthy sport played outdoors in wonderful surroundings. We welcome the government’s announcement that from 11.59pm April 4 vaccine passes will no longer be required as part of the Covid-19 protection framework.”

The Board of HGC advise that effective Tuesday 5th of April the requirement to be fully vaccinated if accessing the Club’s facilities will be removed and our Policy dated 6th of December 2021 will be rescinded.
