Autumn is upon us - the days have become shorter and from this weekend being the Autumn equinox the days only get shorter to the longest day in June ... the year is moving on quickly! Four ball match play is a great format and can lead to a very enjoyable battle against your opposition pair. A game can be won by one player having a great shot or getting a shot on a hole. Congratulations to the winners in the first round; the 2nd round is scheduled for the 27th of March, with a break for three weeks when the 3rd round is played on the 17th of April. Matches need to be played on or before the scheduled next round. If you are needing to change your match date, please advise the pro-shop or myself so the draw can be adjusted. Players who are playing the second round will have been advised of their tee time for the next round on the 27th of March. The course is playing well, having played earlier this week it as noticeable how good our greens are. Please help to keep them good by repairing your pitch marks. It is a common gripe in all golf clubs around the world, even the pros have issues with them. If you are unsure how to repair a pitch mark Ian Poulter gives a good simple demonstration in how to do so with this link: https://www.golfmagic.com/pga-tour/ian-poulter-calls-out-lazy-golfers-angry-pitch-mark-rant?fbclid=IwAR38NQpib6-b2XF1rgdzPDny_L15w4IE5CxiJ2c7XXzgsiqshJ5Q_daoPhE This weekend it’s a Par round for the men and an FMS stableford for the ladies.
